If the goal is to celebrate planet Earth in all its glory, where better than by the Lodge at Beaver Lake Park? The city venue, a harmonious blend of trees, water, open space and man-made buildings, will start hopping at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, with the yearβs first βSammamish Walksβ event. After a jaunt around the park, participants will have a long menu of activities to choose from:
- A raptor display
- Fishing demonstrations
- Wildlife photos
- Food and entertainment
- Crafts and games
Designed for families and individuals of all ages, Earth Day at Beaver Lake Park will also celebrate the cityβs recent designation as a Community Wildlife Habitat, an honor from the National Wildlife Foundation that only 12 cities in the entire state have managed to earn!
In the spirit of Earth Day, and to help with parking limitations, those residents who can are invited to walk or bike to the park. If you would like more information on the event, please contact Dawn Sanders at 425-295-0556 or dsanders@ci.sammamish.wa.us.
