King County is partnering with the City of Sammamish to consolidate the Sheriffβs Eastside precincts into a new facility in Sammamish City Hall, increasing patrol time on the streets and saving $400,000 a year. The move allows the Sheriffβs Office to improve service, increase efficiency, and reduce costs. For example, the Sheriffβs Office can share holding cells and booking areas with the Sammamish Police Department, reducing overhead for both agencies. With the consolidation and other technology improvements, Sheriffβs deputies will be able to do more work in the field, increasing the amount of time they spend on patrol.

The speakers will include:

o Β King County Sheriff Steven Strachan
o Β City of Sammamish Mayor Tom Odell
o Β King County Councilmember Kathy Lambert
o Β City of Sammamish City Manager Ben Yazici
