SNOQUALMIE, WA β€” Road crews in East King County kept busy Friday as pouring rains carried many area rivers into their flood stages. Some of the usual culprits were among Friday's flood-related closures, including portions of Tolt Hill Road and West Snoqualmie River Road. Nine closures remained in place late Friday afternoon around Carnation, Fall City and Snoqualmie.

The Tolt River reached its second flood phase by Friday afternoon, and sections of the Snoqualmie reached Phase 3. The National Weather Service issued flood warnings for more than a dozen Western Washington rivers by 2 p.m.

According to the latest flood forecasts, the Snoqualmie River near Carnation should crest early Saturday morning. Near the Snoqualmie Falls, the river was forecast to recede late Friday night, shortly after hitting the moderate flood stage.

The good news is that Saturday should allow area rivers to recede further before the next moisture plume soaks the area on Sunday. A flood watch remains in place until Tuesday.

Drivers who rely on flood-prone routes can track the latest closures and monitor live river conditions on King County's website. Residents can also find free sandbags at various distribution centers around the county, including some that are open 24/7.
