Issaquah Dentist Offers No-Drill, 'Pain Free' Fillings

Dr. Eric Jorgensen of Modern Family Dentistry of Issaquah has begun offering "Icon Procedure" dental filings, which do not involve the use of the feared dental drill.

Modern Family Dentistry of Issaquah recently announced offering a new alternative to the often-painful technique of drilling cavities for restoring teeth with fillings.

The local dentist is offering a "drill-less" dental technology called the "Icon Procedure", promises a "pain free cavity treatment" to treat areas affected by cavities without the need for drilling on the tooth, according to a press release.

The procedure begins with the application of a special cleaner to the affected tooth. A composite material is then applied to the area. According to the press release, the material works to infiltrate into the enamel and strengthen the damaged portion of the tooth. In just a few moments, the cavity is filled and safe, effective and pain-free treatment is complete.

The new method is targeted at patients who need to fix early small cavities β€” especially children, who may have already had a negative experience at the dentist's office after cavities were found and fillings were placed during a recent visit there.
