Issaquah Man Dies in Head-on Collision in Florida

Police in Florida identified an Issaquah man Monday who was killed in a head-on car crash June 1 on a rural highway west of St. Augustine, FL.
Florida Highway Patrol identified the deceased as Matthew Kyle Brown, 46, of Issaquah. He was driving a 1999 Civic Honda westbound on S.R. 16 when his vehicle drifted into the eastbound lane, eventually running head-on into a 1996 Jeep, according to the FHP report.
Brown was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected through the windshield, according to the St. Augustine Record, and he was later pronounced dead at Flagler Hospital.
The driver of the Jeep suffered life threatening injuries in the crash but survived. Police say she was wearing a seatbelt.
