Issaquah Road Project Could Impact Traffic

SAMMAMISH, NY β€”Upcoming night work on Issaquah's Highlands Drive could impact your commute for several weeks, so you may want to plan accordingly.

The roadwork is scheduled to start Monday, Sept. 13 and run for approximately three weeks, city officials said.

Work crews will complete the construction of a water main from 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.

The City of Issaquah is currently constructing a booster pump station, which will deliver drinking water to the Issaquah Highlands (including more than 5,000 residents) and Swedish Hospital, which serves as a critical care facility.

As part of the project, the city is also installing water lines along Highlands Drive Northeast from the pedestrian tunnel (near Interstate 90) to Northeast Discovery Drive.

To minimize traffic impacts and the length of the project, the work will take place at night, city officials said.

During these working hours, one lane southbound will open to traffic. City officials said there is no impact to northbound traffic.
