Issaquah Salmon Hatchery Reopens After 2-Year Pandemic Closure
The beloved salmon hatchery reopened to the public this week for the first time since 2020.
ISSAQUAH, WA β Just in time for spring, the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery reopened to the public Monday following a two-year pandemic closure.
"Words cannot express our gratitude for how patient our Salmon supporters have been during ths closure, and we are so excited to welcome the community back to the grounds," Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery wrote on social media. "Swing by the grounds and ring in the start of spring by checking out our native plant garden."
While the hatchery was able to offer some scheduled, guided tours last year, it has now reopened for public visits and self-guided tours. According to the hatchery's website, masks will still be required indoors, including at the Steve Bell Theatre and the aquarium room.
