Issaquah Teen Arrested, Accused In $165K Nordstrom Theft
Lynnwood detectives said an 18-year-old former Nordstrom employee siphoned tens of thousands in fraudulent returns over one month.

ISSAQUAH, WA β Detectives in Lynnwood arrested a young woman from Issaquah this month suspected in a retail theft scheme that quickly netted more than $100,000, police announced Friday.
In a news release, the Lynnwood Police Department said the 18-year-old, a former Nordstrom employee, used cash registers to complete fraudulent returns at stores in Lynnwood, Seattle, Tukwila and Scottsdale, Arizona. In just one month, police estimated $165,000 was stolen and transferred into various bank accounts.
"This is a large amount of money," said Troy Hammersmith, a property crimes detective. "One of the highest I have encountered at Lynnwood."

The suspect faces first-degree theft charges, a class-B felony.
