Issaquah Veterans Host 2 Memorial Day Weekend Events
The VFW is hosting two events to commemorate Memorial Day in Issaquah, beginning with a visit to the Hillside Cemetary on Saturday morning.
ISSAQUAH, WA β Issaquah neighbors will have two ways to honor the fallen over the long Memorial Day weekend, organized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3436.
On Saturday morning, volunteers are invited down to the Hillside Cemetary to assist local veterans with decorating the headstones with flags, crosses and Stars of David. Visitors are asked to bring masks and gloves and practice physical distancing.
On Monday, the VFW will return to the cemetery for the annual "Parade of Cars," with a few COVID-19 modifications. This year, participants are invited to drive through the cemetery, and organizers will hand out small American flags to children.
