Landslide Closes Much Of Issaquah's Newport Way
Newport Way Northwest remained closed Wednesday morning after a landslide near Northwest Oakcrest Drive, city officials said.

ISSAQUAH, WA β Issaquah city officials closed a lengthy stretch of Newport Way Northwest early Wednesday after a landslide southeast of Northwest Oakcrest Drive. In a social media post, the city said there was no estimate for reopening the road, which remained closed from Lakemont Boulevard Southeast to State Route 900.
The city asked that drivers plan on using alternate routes but said local access would be possible in both directions.
Wednesday's slide occurred amid another atmospheric river and renewed flood concerns across much of Western Washington. According to the National Weather Service, seven rivers were experiencing minor flooding by 9 a.m., including the Snoqualmie River near the falls and the Tolt River near Carnation.
