New Sammamish Mixed-Use Development Construction Underway

The SKY Sammamish will feature 159 apartment homes with nearly unobstructed views of the Cascade Mountain Range and downtown Seattle.

From Main Street Property Group: Main Street Property Group LLC (www.mspgroupllc.com), a full-service Kirkland-based developer, today announced the start of construction at the SKY Sammamish, a new six-story mixed-use residential and retail building in the heart of Sammamish’s popular Town Center. Construction is slated to be complete by Fall 2018.

Located on the Sammamish Plateau at 22256 SE 4th Street, the SKY Sammamish is situated within the 6.4-acre Sammamish Village project, which recently became home to the newly-opened Metropolitan Market grocery store and several other retailers and commercial tenants.

The SKY Sammamish will feature 159 apartment homes with nearly unobstructed views of the Cascade Mountain Range, downtown Bellevue and Seattle, and will also provide 13,000 sq. ft. of ground-level retail including a restaurant space.

The City of Sammamish has gone from a town in rural King County to a thriving city in recent yearsβ€”with its Town Center at the forefront. With a focus on walkability, community open spaces, civic investments, parks and trails, the city prioritized new housing, retail and commercial investments near these popular, community-building attributes.

β€œFew places have had the vision and foresight to create a sense of place and execute a walkable community like the City of Sammamish,” said Eric Campbell, CEO of MainStreet Property Group. β€œIt has been incredibly inspiring to see the local government working with its citizens to create a great environment hereβ€”and we’re thrilled to be a part of the execution of its vision.”

From its location at the high-point of the Sammamish Plateauβ€”just steps away from the recently-opened Metropolitan Marketβ€”the SKY will soar above the surrounding area with ample opportunities for residents to recreate and relax near their new home. Within walking distance from the SKY is the Sammamish Library, aquatic center, farmer’s market, new state-of-the art YMCA and 25-acre Sammamish Commons park and play area with trails and picnic facilities.

β€œHaving moved here when it was just rural King County in the late 1970s, it’s been incredibly exciting to see Sammamish turn into the safe, beautiful community it is todayβ€”with great schools and community spaces next to the Town Center,” said Samammish Mayor Don Gerend. β€œThe quality of the SKY Sammamish is excellent, and we’re excited to see the increased variety it will bring here.”

β€œThe SKY is symbolic of the amazing views we have from among the highest points in the City on the top of the southeast forthβ€”with The Cascade Mountain Range to the east, and Seattle to the westβ€”and we’re especially excited about parts of the building where residents will feel like you’re in the clouds,” continued Price. β€œThere will be a lot of innovative elements at the SKYβ€” and we hope it will be the first of many more MainStreet projects in the City as Sammamish continues to expand.”

GenCap Construction will be the general contractor for the project, Group Architects is the architect and InSite Property Solutions is providing professional property management services. HAL Real Estate is MainStreet’s capital partner on the SKY Sammamish.

β€œThe quality of the team assembled for this project is outstandingβ€”and it’s going to be really exciting to see what the Town Center becomes over the next 10 years,” said Jonathan Manheim, President of HAL Real Estate.

In addition to the SKY Sammamish, MainStreet Property Group has developed several additional area projects, including: The LINQ Lofts + Flats and The Spencer 68 Apartments + Lofts in Kenmore, Wash., the Six Oaks Apartments + Retail and The 104 in Bothell, Wash., The Slater 116 Apartments in Kirkland, Wash. and The Carter on the Park in Redmond, Wash. Additionally, the Heron Lofts and Flats in Redmond and The Junction in Bothell will open later in 2017.
