Paving Work Closes Portion Of East Lake Sammamish Trail

Nearly two miles of the trail closed is closed through 2022 as work gets underway to complete its last unpaved segment.

SAMMAMISH, WA β€” Work began Tuesday to complete the last unpaved segment of the East Lake Sammamish Trail, requiring crews to close a 1.75-mile stretch through December 2022. The 11-mile trail connects Issaquah to Redmond on the east side of the lake and connects to the larger 44-mile regional trail corridor that links Seattle to the Eastside.

On June 1, King County Parks closed the southernmost half of "South Sammamish Segment B," between SE 33rd St. and Mint Grove, for paving work that is expected to last for 18 months. Construction work on the second phase of the project, along the northern half of the segment, will begin in the fall and continue through 2023.
