Salmon Days Returns To Issaquah For A 52nd Year

This year's Salmon Days festival will include dozens of food vendors and hundreds of artists over the first weekend of October.

ISSAQUAH, WA β€” Issaquah's annual Salmon Days festival returns for another year this weekend, promising two days of outdoor, fished-themed fun. This year's celebration will work a little different, due to ongoing public health considerations, but plenty of activities are on tap, including the Dock Dogs competition and the Field of Fun.

According to organizers, visitors can also expect more than 40 food vendors and 300 artisans, along with a beer and wine garden. A few activities will stay on hold, due to "pandemic-related complications," including the usual parade, 5K run, carnival and Salmon BBQ.

Access to the Issaquah Hatchery, which typically welcomes visitors for salmon viewing during the festival, will be limited to reservations only. However, guests have a few other locations to catch a glimpse of the fish, including:

  • Newport Bridge on Newport Way SW by Front St S.
  • Bridge on W Sunset Way.
  • NW Dogwood St west of Rainier Blvd N.
  • Confluence Park Bridge.

The hatchery will also be live streaming its "Salmon Cam" on YouTube.

Under King County's current masking orders for large outdoor events, attendees will be required to wear face coverings at all times, except when actively eating or drinking. Front Street will be closed to vehicles between East Sunset Way and Northwest Dogwood Street from 6 a.m. Saturday morning until 8 p.m. Sunday night.
