SAMMAMISH, WA β€” The Sammamish Arts Commission is looking for some help to decorate the Sammamish Commons for the Halloween season. In particular, the city needs as many non-perishable pumpkins as it can find. Since the decorations will be up for about two weeks, the commission is seeking carvable foam pumpkins, so the decorations will not decompose before the holiday arrives.

Residents are invited to participate as individuals, families, or groups and carve up their pumpkins before dropping them off at City Hall. Neighbors can find foam pumpkins at several craft retailers like Michaels or Ben Franklin. The city also asks that decorations do not utilize candles or battery-operated lights.

Anyone who would like to leave their mark on the pumpkin path can drop their completed decorations off at the front door of City Hall between Wednesday, Oct. 13 and Friday, Oct. 15. The pathway will be intact through Nov. 1, and photos will be shared on social media.
