Sammamish Blood Drive Wants You

There are still 18 slots left open for tomorrow's blood drive, and plenty of need as the blood center typically sees a deficit over the holidays.

Sammamish extends a big thank you to the 12 people who have made appointments for tomorrow's Β . There are still 18 slots still open for the drive, runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow, and the city could use your help in reaching its goal of 25 donors.Β 

In preparation for the high-usage holiday, your blood center has already sent our local hospitals over 3,000 units of blood.Β  Over the next week we typically see a deficit of 1,200 donations.Β Β See below on how your donation makes a life-saving difference and the lives impacted by the last blood drive!Β

58 year old male, UW Medical Center:Β  Organ Transplant

  • 10 units of red cells
  • 10 units of plasma
  • 2 units of plateletsΒ 

32 year old female, Swedish Medical Center:Β  Pregnancy-related Bleeding

  • 10 units of red cells
  • 2 units of platelets

Child at Children’s Hospital:Β  Internal Bleeding

  • 21 units of red cells
  • 5 units of plasma
  • 2 units of platelets
