Sammamish Hosts 2 Spring Recycling Events In April

Eastside Catholic will host two spring recycling events next month to help residents offload tricky items.

SAMMAMISH, WA β€” A pair of upcoming events will give Sammamish neighbors an opportunity to easily and safely dispose of items that can be difficult to recycle. According to the city, Eastside Catholic will host both events planned over two Saturdays in April.

The first spring recycling event is scheduled for April 9, which will accept various electronics, computer equipment, televisions, batteries and most tires free of charge. Households are limited to six tires each, and no oversized tires will be accepted.

  • $1.50 for extra tires off rim.
  • $3.00 for passenger tire on rim.
  • $9 for large truck tire.
  • $18 for truck tire on rim.

For batteries, most car, truck, boat, motorcycle, and "sealed lead-acid batteries," will be accepted along with household alkaline batteries. The event cannot accept rechargeable, lithium-ion, nicad, or cell phone batteries.

Other electronics cleared for recycling include items like DVD players, stereos, and more.

The second event, scheduled for April 16, will offer confidential document shredding and recycling services for styrofoam and cardboard items, along with mattresses, box springs, propane tanks, toilets, sinks, refrigerators and wood.
