Late Sunday, a frontal system will move into the region, heralding in a short burst of wind and rain with a little bit of mountain snow into Monday afternoon. While precipitation and some breezy conditions are likely across Western Washington, forecasters do not expect significant impacts in the lowlands or the mountains. Snow levels will range from 2,500 to 3,500 feet, bringing 1 to 3 inches of accumulation and the potential for some travel impacts.

According to the early forecast, wind gusts will be strongest along the coast, the San Juans, Admiralty Inlet and western Whatcom and Skagit Counties, reaching as high as 30 to 40 mph. Breezy conditions elsewhere are likely, but wind speeds should be lower.

Forecasters said the front should move across Western Washington pretty quickly, passing as early as Monday night, and clearing the way for a sunny start to December that should last for the rest of next week. Daytime temperatures should stick to the high 40s to low 50s, while overnight lows could dip to just above the freezing mark.
