Sammamish Police Blotter: $7,300 Tapestry Stolen from Elderly Woman

Monday, July 23

Disorderly conduct: An Issaquah man, 39 years old, was arrested outside the Sammamish QFC for screaming obscenities and idle threats at aid workers. He appeared to be very intoxicated.

Fraud: A Sammamish woman reported that $400 in unauthorized purchases were made using her American Express and Visa cards after a trip to Arizona, including for a camera lens and possibly pornography.

House egged twice: A resident of the 33000 block of 217th Pl NE reported to police that his house was egged both on July 20 and 23. He said his neighbor might have the vandalism on a security tape.

Stolen property recovered: a Sammamish man reported to police that he had found lawn equipment including a weed edger and two weed trimmers in a garbage can after seeing two suspicious men near a garbage bin at Inglewood Jr. High. There was a red SUV nearby. Police brought the items to the Sammamish station.

Domestic assault: Police were called to the home of a Sammamish family because their son was threatening to kill himself and had been acting aggressive. Police found that he had cut his superficially wrists with a knife, but he was also arrested for assaulting his parents by throwing a cell phone at his father, and purposely backing his Honda Civic into his parents car, a Ford Escape.

Larceny: A 90-year old Sammamish woman reported to police that someone had stolen a $7,300 Navajo tapestry from her home. There had been some temporary chore assistance help coming in, and also one appraiser.

Tuesday, July 24

Fraud: a Sammamish couple reported to police that someone had opened a credit card at US Bank in the wife’s name on their business account and used it to buy more than $7,000 in items at Best Buy and UPS in Buffalo New York. The bank has since cancelled the card and will reimburse the money, and the couple received two credit cards subsequently that they did not request.

Stolen license plates: A woman living on the 20000 block of 230 Place NE reported to police that someone had stolen the license plate off her 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. The incident could have occurred in Bellevue, or in her Sammamish driveway, she wasn’t sure.

Mail theft: A resident of the 2800 block of 216^th Ave SE reported to police that a check in the amount of almost $3000 from an investment company was stolen from her mail box while she was on vacation.
