Sammamish Police Deal with Spate of Car Prowls
In most of the cases in a string of car prowls, the vehicles were left unlocked.

Police in Sammamish responded to reports of at least nine vehicle prowls that occurred between April 21 and April 23.Β
An officer monitoring the neighborhood around 211 Court NE near Sahalee Way reported that while he was taking a vehicle prowl report, several people living in nearby homes approached him to report that their vehicles also had been targeted.
In nearly all of the nine cases in the area, thieves entered unlocked cars, rifled through center consoles and glove boxes, and stole items such as Bluetooth recharging cords.

- 1800 block of 211 Court NE: On April 23, an officer took several reports of overnight vehicle prowls while on patrol. Two vehicles at one home were gone through , another at a neighborβs home, and another neighbor had had a Bluetooth recharger stolen from her Ford Escape, which had also been prowled the night before. In each case, the victims told police they regularly left their vehicles unlocked. Another neighbor, on the 2100 block of NE 18thΒ street, also stopped and told the officer her vehicle had been prowled. In each case the victims reported that their center console and glove boxes had been rifled through.
- 1600 block of 209 Place NE: The resident reported to police that someone rifled through his Honda CRV and stolen a $300 pair of glasses and iphone charging cards, and had rifled through his console and glove box and opened his briefcase but not stolen his wallet, money or any documents. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
- 1800 block of 211 Court NE: A laptop was stolen; the car was locked but one window was down about 3-4 inches.
- 21000 block of NE 17thΒ St.: A garage door opener was stolen out of an unlocked Ford Explorer parked in a driveway.
- 16000 209thΒ Pl NE: Bluetooth ear piecestolen from an unlocked Chevy Suburban,Β April 21, console and glovebox gone through
- 21000 NE 17thΒ S.: On April 21 $4,000 high performance ceramic exhaust hedders were stolen out of a 2005 Mercedes. The vehicle was parked in driveway and was locked; it's unknown how prowler gained access to car.
