Sammamish's Plateau Runner Holds 'Boston Strong' Run Tonight
A nationwide remembrance by runners tonight, April 22 is intended to support the victims of the Boston Marathon terrorist attack last Monday.
Owners of Sammamish's Plateau Runner will join Monday's nationwide "Boston Strong" remembrance with a 5K (3 mile) run/walk dedicated to those who weren't able to finish the marathon, those who may never run again, and the entire city of Boston.
Ten runners from Sammamish and nine from Issaquah took part in the Boston Marathon but most didn't finish after the race was cancelled after two bombs exploded, killing three and wounding over 170 people.
One of those wounded in the attack was Issaquah native Adrianne Haslet. She told KOMO News that her foot blown off in the second blast and her legs were embedded with shrapnel.
Thanks to the actions of her quick-thinking husband, Good Samaritans and first responders, she survived despite massive blood loss - and is just grateful to tell her story of survival, according to the report.

Organizers will meet at the Plateau Runner at 6:30 p.m. and, at least according to their Facebook page, meet at the Pine Lake Ale House for a post-run refreshment.
