Snoqualmie's Summit West Opens Friday

SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA β€” The Summit at Snoqualmie will partially open for the season Friday, thanks to a heap of fresh snow from recent storms.

"While last weekend's storm was a bit underwhelming, yesterday's delivered a whopping 18" of fresh," the resort wrote Wednesday. "That's more than enough snow to make the call to hit the start button on lifts at Summit West."

The resort will welcome Summit and Ikon pass holders back to the mountain Friday with the Pacific Crest and Little Thunder lifts running on Summit West. Opening dates for Magic Carpet and Wildside are still in the works. Visitors can also enjoy Boneyard Hike Park on Saturday and Sunday.

Even with the recent bounty of snow, the resort cautions that early season conditions are still in place, with relatively low snow depth and potential hazards.

Summit West

  • Pacific Crest: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Little Thunder: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Magic Carpet: TBD
  • Wildside: TBD

After opening weekend, the resort will close Monday and Tuesday, with plans to reopen Wednesday through Sunday next week. As conditions allow, skiers and boarders can expect opening date announcements for Summit Central, Silver Fir and Alpental. Summit East and the Nordic Center will open later in the month, and night skiing is slated to return Dec. 20.

The Summit's tubing park is open Friday through Sunday and on holidays.
