Swedish Issaquah Welcomes its First New Year's Baby
A baby girl born Sunday afternoon to Swedish employee Katie Ehrenstrom and her husband Matt got the honors of being the first New Year's baby at the new Issaquah campus.

The first New Year's baby at Swedish Medical Center's Issaquah Campus was a baby girl, Leah Katherine Ehrenstrom, born Sunday, Jan. 1 at 2:15 p.m.
The 7-pound, 14.5-ounce baby girl, named Leah Katherine, was born to Katie and Matt Ehrenstrom of Issaquah. Dr. Kristen Austin delivered the 19.25-inch-long infant.
Leah is the Ehrenstrom's third child. She has two sisters, 3-year-old Addyson and 18-month-old Stella. Katie works at Swedish/Issaquah as an ultrasound technician.
In addition to permanent bragging rights as the first New Year's baby born at the new hospital, Swedish Issaquah presented the Ehrenstroms with a congratulatory newborn gift basket for Leah.
Since inpatient services opened at Swedish Issaquah on Nov. 1, more than 50 babies have been born at the new medical center, the hospital says.
