Update: Three Injured in Crash on SE High Point Way Near I-90

Update, Sunday 3:45 p.m.: King County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West offered Patch the following additional details about the two-vehicle crash in Preston on Saturday afternoon:

"It appears a Ford Expedition was W/B on the road (SE High Point Way) driven by a woman in her 40's. She had a male child with her in a car seat. A Subaru driven by a 20-year-old man was E/B.  

The Expedition crossed the center line into the path of the Subaru causing a collision.  

The man driving the Subaru was taken to Harborview in serious condition.   

The woman and her child were taken to Overlake Hospital with minor injuries. The child was restrained in a car seat and had a bump on his head. 

Detectives are investigating and have not determined if alcohol or drugs were involved."

Original Story: Three people were hurt in a collision on Interstate 90 near Issaquah Saturday night, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened in the shoulder of SE High Point Way in Preston near I-90, Exit 22 before 5 p.m., directly over a small rise from the Preston Athletic Field and Park parking lot. Two cars were involved in the crash and came to a rest in the shoulder of the road in fencing that seperates it from I-90, with one vehicle overturned in the accident.

Police told KIRO 7 that three people were taken to the hospital and one was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
