'Tribute to Trees' Salon Slated for Feb. 23 at artEAST

The Sammamish Arts Commission and artEAST are bringing together the artists whose work is currently on display at Sammamish City Hall to talk about their processes.

The Sammamish Art Commission, in partnership with artEAST, is pleased to present an interactive salon with the artists from the Tribute to Trees exhibit now on display at Sammamish City Hall.

Sammamish and Issaquah citizens are invited to attend the salon Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at artEAST to learn about the artists and the processes they use to create beautiful and renowned works of art. ArtEAST is located at 95 Front St. N, in Issaquah.Β 

At this free event, the artists will discuss their approach to their work and provide a visual presentation. This is a great opportunity to meet the local artists from Trees in Art collective.

The art exhibit, Tribute to Trees, is on display now at the Sammamish City Hall through March 8. Read and stop by City Hall to enjoy the paintings.

About the Organizations Involved in the Tribute to Trees SalonΒ

Trees in Art features drawings, paintings, and engravings by a group of four Northwest artists, Jacqui Beck,Β Donna Leavitt,Cheryl A. Richey, andΒ Elizabeth Reed Smith,Β who share a deep affinity for trees. While the diverse styles and media represent a range of realistic and abstract renderings of trees, these artists share an interest in exploring and understanding their unifying symbolism.

artEAST is a fast growing nonprofit organization dedicated to making the arts an integral part of life in our community. The organization offers a destination gallery, workshops, exhibitions and community events such as this β€œTribute to Trees” Salon.

The Sammamish Arts Commission offers programming in an effort to build community through the language of the cultural arts. is located on the Sammamish Plateau, at the intersection of 228th Ave. SE and SE 8th Street. Directions can be found on the City web site: www.ci.sammamish.wa.us.
