Where To Cool Off In Issaquah & Sammamish During The Heat Wave

With an excessive heat warning lasting into the weekend, Issaquah will operate a cooling center from morning to night on the hottest days.

ISSAQUAH, WA β€” Temperatures are poised to soar into the mid-90s on Thursday and Friday across Puget Sound, and Eastside neighbors have a few options to help beat the heat. In Issaquah, a cooling center will operate on the two hottest days of the heat wave, welcoming residents to enjoy air conditioning as afternoon highs peak. The Sammamish Library will welcome visitors Thursday through Saturday.

Thursday & Friday (8:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.)

Sammamish Library (Aug. 12 - Aug. 14)

Thursday, Friday & Saturday (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.)


Beyond the two cooling centers, residents can also check out several options in neighboring towns, including beaches, pools and spray parks. Despite the soaring temperatures, residents should also remember that area lakes and rivers remain very cold, and swimming in unguarded areas can pose significant risks.
