Wire Thieves Knock Out Street Lights Near Klahanie

SAMMAMISH, WA — A stretch of Issaquah-Fall City Road was left without working streetlights Thursday after a series of wire thefts in the area, according to city officials. The city said all street lights were out of service along the road, between 247th Place Southeast and Klahanie, after thieves struck eight junction boxes in the area.

In a brief update shared online, officials said the city would work with contractors and police to make the needed repairs and find ways to better secure the boxes to prevent future incidents.
