Woman Killed By Fallen Tree During Monday's Winds
Strong localized wind gusts knocked out power for thousands Monday and caused a woman's death after a tree fell in Fall City.

FALL CITY, WA β A woman died Monday morning amid high winds moving through the region, causing a tree to fall on Southeast 46th Street in Fall City. The greater Seattle area was under a wind advisory until noon Monday, with peak gusts near 60 mph recorded in Seattle.

Nearly 30,000 Puget Sound Energy customers were without power mid-morning, impacting homes and businesses around Sammamish, Issaquah, Maple Valley and Enumclaw.
Eastside Fire & Rescue medics rushed to the scene of a reported tree onto car in Fall City shortly before 9 a.m. and asked residents in the surrounding area to avoid driving in the foothills until the wind subsided. After crews arrived at the scene, they found the tree had fallen onto a woman, not a vehicle, and immediately began life-saving efforts.

The victim died at the scene and the investigation was turned over to the King County Sheriff's Office.
Correction- there is no vehicle involved in this incident. This is a down tree onto person injury. CPR is in progress.
