Seattle Activists Plan 'Save The Post Office' Rally For Saturday
Organizers said the rally, planned for 11 a.m., will show support for the USPS and protest recent cuts to the postal service.

SEATTLE — Activists from progressive groups around Seattle are set to gather on Saturday at the Ballard US Post Office to show support for the US Post Service and protest recent cuts made by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.
The "Save The Post Office" rally is scheduled to kick off at 11 a.m. at 5706 17th Avenue in Seattle.
The rally comes after Postmaster General Louis DeJoy unveiled sweeping, cost-cutting changes at USPS, including removing mail-sorting machines from postal facilities and eliminating employee overtime.

DeJoy issued a statement earlier this week that he would back off changes he implemented to avoid "even the appearance of any impact on election mail."
"Trump’s attack on the postal service cannot stand," MLK Working Families Party leader Robert Cruickshank said in a statement. "He and his cronies are doing everything they can to stop people from voting, and we’re prepared to block him at every turn — not just this weekend, not just on Election Day, but for as long as it takes to get him out of the White House.”
