King County Student Arrested For Bringing Gun To School

The student prompted a lockdown Monday morning at the SeaTac school.

SEATAC, WA -- A 14-year-old student was arrested Monday morning for allegedly bringing a handgun to a King County school that prompted a lockdown. The incident was reported just before 9 a.m. at Tyee High School in SeaTac, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff's officials said the student was searched after arriving to school Monday. He allegedly posted photos of himself and the gun on social media sites.

No threats were made against the school or any students, the Sheriff's Office said.

The incident comes as a growing number of schools in the U.S. reported possible threats and faced lockdowns in the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida school shooting that killed 17 people
