Eggen, Hubbell Nearly Even in Fundraising

The latest Public Disclosure Commission reports show Shoreline City Council Pos. 2 candidates and raising and spending similar amounts leading up to the Nov. 8 general election.

Eggen, a retired electrical engineer who is the incumbent, elected first in 2007, has raised $9,120 and spent $8,377.

Hubbell, a business consultant who is the challenger, has raised $9,069 and spent $7,216.

Eggen's largest donors are the Amalgamated Transit Union ($800); retired UW professor and active 32nd District democrat Bob Phelps ($600); active 32nd District democrat, Elaine Phelps ($600); John Simms, owner of Frank Lumber-The Door Store ($500); Lisa Thwing ($250;, Washington Association of Realtors ($200); Nancy Morrison ($200) and Dorothy Stevens ($200).

Hubbell's largest donors are his mother Theodora Hubbell ($1,000); Stephen Dunn ($500), Bernadette Moyle ($300); Roger and Lee Lageshuclk ($225); Ken and Laura Taylor ($200); Dan and Kristi Lin ($200). Hubbell also received $100 from Shoreline Mayor Keith McGlashan. 

Eggen's largest expenditure was $3,000 in payments to campaign manager Kenyon Foxworthy.
