Letter to the Editor: Support Way, Eggen and Salomon
Candidates will be best able to balance environmental concerns with economic development and represent the interests of the citizens of Shoreline, letter writer says

To the editor:
For those who have not yet voted and are still undecided regarding who to vote for, for the Shoreline City Council, I have some recommendations. I have been to a few of the Speaker's Forums to listen to the candidates' official positions, and have also had the opportunity to interact with several of the candidates regarding community issues.
I value those who are engaged and interested in standing up for the interests of the community. One of the candidates who stands out is Janet Way; she has been an outspoken advocate for many community groups working to improve the livability of Shoreline for its residents. She is very strong on environmental issues, sustainability, and growing a green economy. She is also well-connected, both politically and with community groups. In addition to her knowledge of and experience with local issues, she has a ton of energy and enthusiasm for making Shoreline an even better place to live.

Chris Eggen has also been very honest and supportive. He has been on the Shoreline City Council for a number of years and has managed to keep his head above the politics and his interests aligned with the best interests of the community. He has been very willing to attend community meetings and support community initiatives.
I first met Jesse Salomon when he was doorbelling in my neighborhood. He was interested but hesitant to commit to support of an environmental issue I was involved in. While I was a little disappointed, I appreciated his honesty and focus on the issues he felt were of greatest concern to Shoreline. He has been very active in the community and has run a great campaign, earning the respect and support of sitting council members and other officials.

I believe these candidates will be best able to balance environmental concerns with economic development and represent the interests of the citizens of Shoreline.
