Week-Long Small Business Saturday Shopping Holiday shopping season is here! And we have a fun way to support local, small businesses by participating in our Small Business Saturday week-long event. The event includes an easy activity that qualifies you for a prize drawing, sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The prizes are gift cards to participating businesses! This is the sixth year that Spokane County Library District has taken on the role of Neighborhood Champion for the American Express Shop Small event on Small Business Saturday. As a Neighborhood Champion, the library is an ambassador for the Shop Small cause—supporting, rallying, and bringing together local businesses and community members throughout the holidays and beyond. District libraries in four communities are participating this year: Cheney, Deer Park, Medical Lake, and Millwood (Argonne Library). Douglas LaBar, owner of The Mason Jar in Cheney, shared his thoughts about the event: “Small Business Saturday with Spokane County Library District has been such a fun and engaging event, and we look forward to participating every year! It gives us a great opportunity to show off our business to locals and new customers as well. It’s a great way to kick off the holiday season.” New this year, the local holiday shopping event has expanded from one day on Small Business Saturday to a week-long event, giving you more time to shop: Small Business Saturday: Shop Local All Week Long
