is celebrating its 85th Anniversary Bash this year.
The celebration is scheduled for 7 p.m., Feb. 27 at , where the scouts typically meet and are sponsored.
Β
Part of this celebration the troop hopes to have is a reunion of former members. Troop No. 248 was originally Troop No. 48, started by George Curtis and the Foss family, then in the 1950's it split into two troops. Troop No. 248 has continued on, non-stop since; the other half troop lasted until the early 1980's before folding.
Β
will feature an awards ceremony, a crossing over ceremony (where Cub Scouts become Boy Scouts), and finish with a performance with a local Magician Rick Anderson. This is also an Open House for Troop No. 248 for boys ages 11 - 17, who can come see our troop and maybe even join.
Β
This is open to the whole community, at no charge, (RSVP is encouraged to ensure organizers have enough refreshments).
