New Tacoma Cemeteries & Funeral Home Makes Big Toy Contributions For Pierce County Kids
UNIVERSITY PLACE β Stuffed animals sent from as far away as New Orleans, Tennessee and California will help comfort children in crisis situations, right here in Pierce County, thanks to a donation made to area agencies on Friday, Nov. 30, by New Tacoma Cemeteries & Funeral Home (NTC).
With great support from staff, families, friends and suppliers, the company was able to deliver 340 stuffed animals to share with the Pierce County Sheriff, University Place Police and University Place Fire departments. The stuffed animals are used by EMT's, paramedics, firemen and police officers to comfort children that are in traumatic situations.
NTC originally set out to raise 150 stuffed animals and was overwhelmed with the positive response.
Β
" Initially I thought my goal of 150 may have been too aggressive, but families coming in to make arrangements would see our cause and return with stuffed animals," explains NTC president. "We had animals sent to us from as far away as New Orleans, California, & Tennessee from employee contacts and requests."
