Chambers Bay Golf Course Closing Until March
Putting greens at the renowned golf course will be replanted, forcing the closure beginning Oct. 1.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, WA - Consider this your FORE-warning. The Chambers Bay golf course will close Monday for five months for putting green turf replacement.
According to the golf course, three putting greens began to have turf issues in 2017. Those greens were resurfaced with local Poa annua sod (a type of grass that grows well in temperature climates). So, Chambers Bay has decided to resurface the remaining greens with that sod.
During the turf resurfacing, the Chambers Bay Regional Park will be open as usual. The pro shop and restaurant will be open 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. on weekends.
