Public Notice: The City of University Place Planning Commission will conduct a virtual public hearing on April 7, 2021 beginning at 7:00 p.m. to consider proposed amendments to UPMC Title 23 Telecommunications to add two new chapters regulating Small Cell Distributed Antenna Systems and Eligible Facility Requests, respectively. These amendments are in response to the Federal Communications Commissionβs Report and Order βAcceleration of Broadband Deployment, Expanding the Reach and Reducing the Cost of Broadband Deployment by Improving Policies Regarding Public Rights of Way and Wireless Facilities Siting and the Middle-Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 (βSpectrum Actβ).

The University Place Planning Commission will REMOTELY hold its scheduled meetings to ensure essential city functions continue. However, to ensure compliance with Governor Insleeβs Proclamation 20-25.12 Healthy Washington β Roadmap to Recovery issued on January 11, 2021 and Proclamation 20-28.15 β Open Public Meetings Act, there will currently be no in-person attendance by members of the public.
