HEY DRIVERS: Joint Base Lewis-McChord's DuPont Gate To Close This Weekend

A road construction and resurfacing project will close the DuPont Gate, Interstate 5 exit #119, on JBLM Lewis Main beginning Friday at 9 a.m.

The gate is open Friday morning until 9 a.m. to accommodate morning commuter traffic onto the base.

The DuPont Gate is scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, September 10, in time to accommodate the morning commuter traffic onto the base.

Commuters who normally enter or exit the base through the DuPont Gate must plan to use an alternate gate.  Alternates from I-5 include:  Exit #120 Lewis Main Gate (also known as the Liberty Gate), and the Lewis North Gate; and Exit #122 Madigan Gate.

Motorists exiting the installation at the end of the duty day on Friday for Dupont, or other areas south of JBLM, are reminded that the Center Drive Gate is open from 3 to 6 p.m.

JBLM officials are working to maintain the same level of service for drivers entering and exiting the base. All road construction paving projects are weather dependent and subject to change as the weather conditions dictate.
