Ladybug Bikini Espresso Featured In Book, "Coffee Spot Safari" Contest

Ladybug Bikini Espresso of University Place is one of 120 coffee shops featured in a new book from Tacoma artist Marsha Glazière.

Her book, "Eclectic Coffee Spots in Puget Sound," features paintings, photos and prose of 120 coffee spots with character in the Puget Sound. Here's an excerpt from the book:

Ladybug Espresso sits on its own island, literally between Tacoma and University Place. The building is surrounded by manicured shrubs and looks more like a house than a drive-thru coffee spot. At least it did when
it was Penelope’s Espresso, not too long ago, when it blended easily into the residential neighborhood. The once gray building is now eclectically painted a bright red, accented with ladybug spots of black—hard to miss, as are the
bikini-clad baristas!
