Mambo Cadillac plays high octane salsa, Latin Jazz, and Afro-Cuban music, and features three-time Grammy Award winning vocalist Carlos Cascante from Costa Rica on lead vocals. The band was founded by Seattle conga player Tor Dietrichson, who has performed and recorded with such notable musicians as Zakir Hussain, Flora Purim, Paul Horn, and the Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart. Mambo Cadillac also features Mexican pianist Julio Jauregui, Dean Schmidt on bass and Jeff Busch on drums. The band has been a mainstay in the Pacific Northwest's Latin music scene since 2005, logging close to 1,000 performances. For their Music in the Square show, they will be joined by the celebrated trumpeter Thomas Marriott, who has recorded 13 albums and toured with many salsa and jazz greats, including Tito Puente and Maynard Ferguson.
