Music On The Square - Pearl Django In University Place City

The second Music on the Square event will feature gypsy jazz and swing sounds from Pearl Django on Wednesday, Aug. 11 from 6-8 p.m.

Pearl Django has a performance history spanning more than 27 years and has released 15 CDs. The band’s roots are firmly in the gypsy jazz music made famous by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, but they have an extensive repertoire that includes traditional jazz classics and original compositions. Pearl Django has performed at numerous festivals and clubs throughout the U.S. and overseas, played at the prestigious Festival Django Reinhardt in Samois sur Seine, France, appeared over 100 times at Seattle's Jazz Alley, and been featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Throughout the years, Pearl Django has cultivated a devoted and enthusiastic following and they continue to play to packed houses wherever they perform.

Tacoma Wiener Company will be serving gourmet hot dogs while you enjoy live music on the square!
