New I-5 South 38th Street Ramp Opening Postponed
The 38th Street exit from I-5 in Tacoma will hopefully reopen before the weekend, according to WSDOT.

Work required for opening the new South 38th Street exit from Interstate 5 in Tacoma has been cancelled for tonight through tomorrow due to a wet weather forecast, according to WSDOT.Â
A dry night for roadway striping is necessary to tie the new ramp into the highway. Weather-permitting, crews will close the southbound I-5 exit to westbound State Route 16 at 11 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, and reopen the new ramp by 5 a.m. Thursday, June 27.
This work is part of Washington State Department of Transportation’s I-5/SR 16 Eastbound Nalley Valley project.
