Pain at the Pump: Gas Prices Topping $4 Per Gallon in University Place
Gas prices are inching to over $4 per gallon at gas stations in UP, but prices are lower than they were the same time last year, according to NPR.

Gas prices in the UP area are tipping the $4 mark for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel as road trip season approaches, but prices aren't expected to reach the levels seen in 2012.
According to NPR, national gas prices are about 15 percent lower than this time last year, due to a spike in crude oil production.
But, the pain at the pump is still very real for the average consumer. With Memorial Day only two weeks away, gas prices in Tacoma are averaging at $3.966 per gallon. During this week in 2012, regular unleaded fuel cost $4.215 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.
