Patch Picks: Superbowl Spots

Super Bowl Sunday will be here, an annual tradition in which fans gather to eat, drink and break other resolutions made at the start of the year. They dress up, go to parties and get in the gridiron spirit.

Oh yeah, there's also some football.

Whatever the reason you get into the Super Bowl spirit, UP Patch wants to help you plan. In the first of what will be many lists intended to help you navigate your weekend, we provide some ideas for places to watch the big game, whether you wave a Terrible Towel or don a Cheesehead:

Why Here: Lots of beer, including 64 on tap. A sports theme. Shuffleboard. Chili burritos. Need we say more? This place is always a good bet to watch the big game, and the crowd should be in just the right mood.

Why Here: This is one of UP's perennial sports-watching venues. The spacious bar inside lends itself nicely to large crowds, and there is a wide array of drinks. The bar also has daily specials, which will make the watching the Super Bowl that much better.

Why Here: Another favorite among locals, this intimate spot holds an annual Super Bowl party. The people there say things get busy fast, so come early. , so you know they'll bring it Sunday.

Why Here: This is a little more chic than traditional sports bars, but who can argue against a sirloin oscar? Order a drink, sit back and enjoy a succulent cut as you watch players knock the snot out of each other. Isn't that what football is all about?

Why Here: This is a great place to watch the game, have fun and take the whole family. It offers a lounge, and of course, the kids can be preoccupied with bowling, the arcade or snacking. Besides, just because your team can't knock ball-carriers down doesn't prevent you from doing the same ... to bowling pins.
