Seattle Seahawks Star Marshawn Lynch Arrested For Suspected DUI

Seattle Seahawks running back busted in Oakland, booked at Dublin's Santa Rita Jail.

Police say they found more than Skittles in Marshawn Lynch's system over the weekend.

The Seattle Seahawks star and Bay-Area hometown hero was arrested Saturday in Oakland for allegedly driving under the influence, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.

Oakland-native Lynch, 26, who two days earlier presented a scholarship to an Oakland gunshot victim, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol and booked at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, said Sgt. Ray Kelly of the sheriff's department.

County records indicate he was cited for the charges and released on Sunday.

Lynch has six years of pro-football experience. He was drafted as a rookie in 2007 to the Buffalo Bills, after finishing his college career at the University of California, Berkeley where he was the school's second all-time career rusher with 3,230 yards, according to sports reports.

On Thursday, Lynch, along with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Josh Johnson, presented in an emotional ceremony before a crowd of 200 people a $500 scholarship to college-bound Oakland gunshot victim Gerald Williams, according to news accounts.

He recently inked a multiyear deal to play in Seattle. The Seattle Seahawks headquarters are in Renton at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center.
