Pierce County Superior Court has suspended all new civil and criminal jury trials until at least January 21, 2022. Jury trials are slated to begin again on January 24th. This date will be revisited as it approaches to see if it needs to be extended. There is currently one jury trial ongoing at the County City Building and it will continue until completed. This decision was made in part due to the rise in Omicron case numbers and our interest in keeping staff and court participants as safe as possible. Emergency Order 22-01, which will be sent out later today, does not affect bench trials, or other in-court appearances.

Superior Court requests that citizens of Pierce County follow the recommendations of the Washington State Department of Health, the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department and the Governor in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
