TIERRAWATCH: University Place's Tierra Crockrell Breaks Another Record at AAU Junior Olympics
Five days after she broke the record in the pentathlon, the 11-year-old University Place girls earned a meet best in the long jump in the sub-midget division. The previous record had stood since 2000.
HOUSTON, TX- University Place's crushed the long jump record in the sub-midget division of the AAU National Junior Olympics on Thursday.
The 11-year-old jumped to a mark of 17 feet, 2.5 inches, almost 2 feet farther than the runner-up.
Tierra's jump was almost a foot farther than the previous record in the sub-midget category, which had stood since 2000.

Check out the video, supplied by mom Tricia, of the medal ceremony. Notice how the announcer staed "University Place," but she put us in the wrong state. You can hear, presumably, dad Pierre correcting her.
