School of Business & Leadership Faculty Present At Fall Summit

Drs. Lisa McCool and Melissa Farrish from the UC School of Business & Leadership presented “Technology and Engagement: Gaming in the Classroom” at the Appalachian College Association’s annual fall summit on September 24, 2021, in Pigeon Forge TN.

The presentation focused on incorporating game-centered technology to increase student engagement. The presentation included data related to the importance of technology for engaging Gen Z learners and a discussion of specific game-centered learning platforms, including GooseChase and TopHat.

McCool is Program Director for Entrepreneurship and Assistant Professor, Management. Farrish is Associate Professor and Program Director, Management.

Associate Professor Dr. Rick Ferris and Dr. Scott Bellamy, Professor and Dean of the School of Business and Leadership, also attended the conference.

The Appalachian College Association is a non-profit consortium of 34 private four-year liberal arts colleges located in Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.
