UP Sergeant Injured During SWAT Training Exercise

UPDATE: UP Police Chief Mike Blair told Patch that the Sergeant was heading into a simulated active hot zone at the drill when he was thrown against a support bar. He tore his quad muscle off of his left leg.

A surgery is scheduled for Thursday. As for when he will return to work, Blair said they should know tomorrow.

A University Place sergeant is in the hospital after sustaining injuries during a training exercise for the Pierce County SWAT team, UP Police Chief Mike Blair told Patch.

The group is reportedly practicing an active shooter drill in Eatonville today.
