UW's Terrence Ross, Tony Wroten Jr. Go In First Round of NBA Draft

Ross was selected No. 8 by Toronto, while Wroten went No. 25 to Memphis.

A pair of University of Washington Husky guards were selected in the first round of the NBA Draft tonight.

The first Husky to have his name called was sophomore Terrence Ross, who went No. 8 to Toronto. The sophomore, who had both prolific scoring games and some where he faded offensively last year, was the highest UW player selected since Brandon Roy at No. 6 in 2006. Ross' stock had risen in recent weeks as teams were drawn to his length and athletic ability.

After Ross, the Memphis Grizzlies selected Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Tony Wroten Jr. at No. 25. Wroten, who was a lightening rod for supporters and critics alike during his only year on Montlake, is considered a big risk with potentially huge rewards if he pans out.
