Woodinville Patch asked readers to tell us what their moms mean to them. Read what Charles Frady had to say.

WOODINVILLE, WA — She's the one that loved you first, but mom is much more than that. She’s a friend, a teacher, a counselor, a shoulder to cry on — and maybe one of the toughest women you’ve ever met.

We asked Patch readers in more than 1,000 communities to tell us what their moms mean to them. Nearly 200 people responded, paying tribute not just to moms but sometimes to grandmas, sisters and daughters who deserve recognition for Mother’s Day 2021.

Here’s what Charles Frady of Woodinville had to say about mom Mom of Tacoma :

Hi Mom, How have you been? Hope all is well up there in Heaven. You have been gone from my life now about 34 years..you were far too young to have been taken, but alas, it sometimes still feels like yesterday. Sometimes when the image of you starts to fade in my memory, I pull out an old black and white photo that I have of you and refresh the imprint :) Sorry but i have not forgotten you, the memory of your face just needs to be refreshed from time to time. Well anyways, and I hope you are doing very well up there and enjoying time with all your family members. Please say hello to Dad for me. I love and miss you both dearly. Charles
